Corporate Risk provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, this group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

Our Centers of Excellence Program Office is seeking a Business Initiatives Consultant 3 to join the team.

Team members support our focus on building strong customer relationships, balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. Accountable for execution of all applicable Centers of Excellence Program Office programs (Home Lending, Consumer Credit Solution, Dealer Services, Military Lending Act, Customer to Commitment, etc.), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk, legal, and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation, and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements. This position partners with the line of business subject matter experts to understand business needs.

More specifically, the Business Initiatives Consultant handles:

  • The Service Member Civil Relief Act working within the Center of Excellence (COE) looking at data for Department of Defense

  • Effectively facilitate meetings for Strategy initiatives

  • Providing guidance/direction to Stakeholders on Initiatives

  • Assess and come up with strategies as well as execute

  • Collaborates with leadership

The preferred locations are San Antonio, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Des Moines, IA; and Charlotte, NC.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: project management, implementation, or strategic planning

  • 2+ years of risk and regulatory compliance experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Direct experience working for a branch of the military or familiarity with the military as a service member's spouse or dependent

  • Military intelligence or analytics experience including operational management, project management, mission evolution management and finance management

  • Experience working with military protocol and instructions, enlisted evaluations, officer/leadership reporting, and assistance with keeping military personnel combat-ready and effective

  • Military intelligence or analytics experience using quantitative data to formulate solutions using applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences

  • Ability to facilitate and lead meetings to reach conclusions, identify tasks, record actions, and achieve results

  • Ability to provide oversight and guidance on escalated issues

  • Ability to influence and collaborate at all internal organizational levels

  • Ability to act as a liaison between the technical design staff and business requester to ensure all requirements are met

  • Ability to present results of analyses and recommendations to senior leaders

  • Service Members Civil Relief Act (SCRA) experience

  • Ability to represent the company/business units to internal and external auditors, RECOR, OCC, or other regulatory agencies

  • Knowledge and understanding of state, federal, and agency legal and regulatory compliance requirements

  • Experience developing partnerships and collaborating with other business and functional areas

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills

  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment

  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)

  • Ability to motivate groups and to quickly gain the trust/confidence of executive leaders

  • Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities
